Gold Rounds. Pacific Precious Metals
Gold rounds are a precious metal bullion item looking strikingly similar to gold coins. Gold rounds are different regarding the legal tender, as gold coins in the US have a backed legal tender by the government.
United States Mint has the exclusive right to make products with legal tender status, which is why it makes the only gold coins in the country. So, other private mints in the US can also make gold bullion in the form of coins, but it must be marketed as a gold round.
The gold rounds lack the backed face value the gold coins have, as private mints make them. However, you can always get the same value of gold for them.
Collectible gold rounds feature famous coin designs, usually with higher premiums above the spot price. The other variety, investment gold rounds, usually only feature the .999 or .9999 purity marking, along with the logo of the mint that manufactured the gold round.
